Albert Adomah ruled out of Ghana's World Cup qualifiers

Posted On Friday, 18th May 2012

Bristol City midfielder Albert Adomah is out of Ghana’s opening 2014 World Cup qualifiers after suffering a knee injury.

The 24-year-old was named in the Black Stars squad that host Lesotho on June 1 in Kumasi and travel to battle reigning African champions Zambia on June 9.

Adomah, 2011 Bristol City Player of the Season, struggled with injuries in the just ended season which saw the team finish 20th in the English Championship.

The latest development comes as a massive blow to the player who was looking to regain a regular spot in the Ghana squad after failing to make the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

Adomah has been on the fringes of the team which making his debut as a second-half substitute against Brazil last year.

The Ghana squad will begin a non residential camping on Monday before traveling to Kumasi on May 27 ahead of the game against Lesotho.
