The transfer window may be closed, but Albert Adomah’s Boro future remains uncertain.

Despite claims to contrary, the club did not yesterday receive a serious offer for the 27-year-old winger, who is understood to have had a major disagreement with Aitor Karanka.

It comes after a GazetteLive poll showed that the majority of Boro fans (40%) expected Adomah to remain at the club.

However, the poll proved to be fairly close, with 34% expecting Adomah to leave - and Boro to replace him.

With almost two years remaining on his contract, Boro are in no rush to sell Adomah, who is unlikely to be considered for first team selection until he makes his peace with the head coach.

The club could, however, allow the player to go out on loan once the window opens next week.

This is an option that only 9% of Boro fans in our poll thought would happen.

n the meantime, the international break allows time for both parties to consider their options.

Karanka has had disagreements with players in the past, most notably Mustapha Carayol at Watford in February last year, and has shown that he is prepared to forgive and forget providing an apology is forthcoming.
