The future of wantaway winger Albert Adomah is hanging in the balance with the transfer window expected to shut in the next few hours.

Adomah submitted a transfer request last week after a dressing room bust-up with Boro boss Aitor Karanka and despite enquiries there have been no firm bids ahead of tonight’s 6pm deadline day.

If he leaves, boss Aitor Karanka could have a ready made replacement lined up in de Pena.

His move to the Riverside hangs in the balance though, report the Evening Gazette, after his club Nacional told him not to get on a planned flight to England.

He can play on either flank and has scored 10 goals in 53 games for the club.
