In-form Ghanaian midfielder Albert Bruce is confident Naxxar Lions will add Valletta to their list of recent victims when the two teams clash in the Maltese big league meeting on Monday night.

The 21-year-old has inspired the side to recent victories since he joined from Qormi United.

The former Kotoko combative midfielder has engineered an impressive display, helping the side move up to 7th with six games to spare.

Lions had flirted with relegation since the start of the season but the late acquisition of the Ghanaian youth international has brought some spark with coach Jesmond Zerafa praising the quality of the former Sunderland target.

Bruce remains bullish about his side’s chances against Valleta at the VenueTa'Qali National Stadium.

“It’s a big game for us and we’re looking forward to it. It’s important we win this game because at this stage one cannot afford to lose,” he said.

“The recent wins have sparked confidence in the team and we look forward to the remaining six games.

“Training has been good. I’m physically fit and in good shape and that’s excites me.

“For now my focus is on Nexxar Lions and how we can make the best out of the season. We wan to win and I’m confident we’ll do just that.”
