French side Lorient are holding on to midfielder Alhassan Wakaso who joined them from Portuguese side Rio Ave.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that talks between Lorient and Guimaraes have broken down due to a fee of around 2 million Euros being demanded by the relegated French side.

Guimaraes offered to sign on loan with an option of a buy in the summer but the French club who have lost Benjamin Moukandjo and are on the verge of losing Majeed Waris say they will on sanction an outright but at their own demand.

The Ghanaian who is the younger brother of Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso has hard offers from Turkish top division sides and will likely look at other options if this deal breaks down.
