Wa All Stars head coach Maxwell Kondau has confirmed he is in talks with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko for an assistant coach role.

Kotoko have been in the market searching for an assistant for newly appointed Serb Bogdan Korak who signed a two-year contract with the club on Tuesday.

Sources say discussion between the two parties has reached an advanced stage with Konadu almost set to re-join his former club.

The 1992 Olympian told Accra-based Radio Gold: "Yes it’s true the club have been in touch with me and we’ve been talking about that possibility. I will not make a definite statement on it but when we finish it will be made public."

"I’m flattered about the fact that the club thinks about me and I love the club as well because it’s my former club. It’s the dream of any local coach in Ghana to have an opportunity to have an association with Kotoko be it an assistant or in full capacity."

The ex-Ghana striker has been credited for transforming All Stars since joining the Wa-based side last season.

Kotoko have lost three times in a row in the Premier League and are keen to transform their dwindling fortune
