Riyadh: The first leg of the AFC Champions League 2017 final at the King Fahd International Stadium on Saturday is set to be a memorable affair.

Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia will host Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, with the second leg to be played a week later in Saitama.

"The AFC Champions League is getting bigger every year and the two-legged final this year is expected to surpass previous editions in terms of, among others, organisation, spectators and TV viewership," Shin Man Gil, the AFC Director of Competitions Division, said.

"The host club here - Al Hilal - are doing their best to make it a memorable night for the fans.

"The AFC is pleased with the preparations and we are confident that both teams will show quality football."

The enthusiasm is also building in Riyadh, as scores of journalists lined up on Thursday morning for the arrival of Urawa Reds.

Ticket sales started on Wednesday and after just a few hours, 50 per cent were already sold.
