AmaZulu midfielder John Arwuah says he is disappointed that he has to spend time on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

The 29-year-old sustained the injury during the away Absa Premiership encounter against Free State Stars which ended in a 0-0 draw.

“It’s always disappointing when you get injured as a footballer, especially when the team is not doing well, but it’s part of the game,” Arwuah said.

“Right now I have to concentrate on my recovery and continue to support my teammates. I believe we have other strong players who will do the job for the team because we need the results.

“I’m still not sure how long I will be out because so far I have received different opinions but definitely I will be out for at least four weeks and then go for more tests.

Arwuah has made seven appearances for Usuthu so far this season, six in the league and one in the Telkom Knockout.

Usuthu are currently in 16th place on the Absa Premiership table and will play their next game against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Saturday night.
