Newly-signed Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Theophilus Nyame has optimistically stated that the side will win the 2015/16 league for the fans of the club after their splendid performance in the SWAG Cup.
Asante Kotoko won their first trophy of the year after Eric Donkor’s free kick found its way into the roof of the net leaving their opponents from Obuasi speechless with the entire regulation time exhausted.
The former Hasaacas midfielder who was instrumental in the game for Kotoko insisted after the game that the Reds will win the league next season.
“I assure the fans that whatever competition we play, we will win the trophy. That is why I came to Kotoko and this is just the beginning.”
“This is my first trophy in my career as a player and am very grateful. I want to win more and the way we have started shows we can do more. I came to Kotoko because of the league and I can confidently say that we will win the league,” he added.
Asante Kotoko were dethroned as champions by AshGold after failing to defend their league title won in the 2013/14 league season.
