Andre Ayew has issued an apology over Ghana's World Cup showing in Brazil

Ghana winger Andre Ayew has issued a fresh grovelling apology to the fans over their 2014 World Cup fiasco and begging for support for the Black Stars all over the country after defeating Guinea 3-1 in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Tamale.

This comes two days after captain Asamoah Gyan issued an apology over the team's reaction in Brazil when they appearance fees failed to arrive in time which wrecked the country's World Cup campaign.

The Black Stars were booed in Kumasi in their last match in their match against Uganda which might have sparked the decision to take the match against Guinea to Tamale.

The fans in Kumasi were angered by the unapologetic posture assumed by the players in the wake of the disaster at the World Cup which resulted in the fans booing the team.

However they were given heroes welcome in Tamale and had massive support which might have helped the side to the emphatic win over the Guinea on Wednesday.

Despite the assured support they got in Tamale, Ayew says the support of fans all over the country is crucial for the future of the Black Stars urging fans to come out and support the team.

“In life it’s like a man and wife arguing. When you argue with her, she gets angry and will not mind you but later she will come back. It’s the same thing. We are begging them to come and support us and hopefully they will show us more love," Ayew told GTV.

“We would like to thank all Ghanaians and as I have already said, what has happened has happened. From the players’ side, if we’ve hurt people, we say we are sorry.

“We did not have the results we wanted at the World Cup. We are very sorry. And hopefully they will forgive us and they will come more and more in the stadiums.

"Anywhere we play whether in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, we hope Ghanaians will be there to support us.”

The Ghana FA has stated that the Black Stars will play in all key cities in the country which means they must court the support of the fans all over the country despite the booing in Kumasi.

Ghana cemented their place at the top of their group after edging to victory past Guinea on Wednesday in Tamale in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Black Stars, making their debut at the Tamale Stadium took their point tally to 8 from four games with two more matches left in the Group E campaign as Maxwell Konadu's side won 3-1.

Goals from Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu sealed first win for Konadu, who is in temporary charge.
