Ghana playmaker Andre Ayew is confident his English Premier League side Swansea City will make a huge impact this season and he is happy over his pre-season form.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele joined the Swans on a free transfer from French side Marseille this month and has wasted no time in making an impression at the Welsh club.

Andre netted his first Swansea goal against Nottingham Forest in pre-season on Saturday.

The Ghana deputy captain is confident the Welsh club can back up last season’s record-breaking effort with another strong campaign.

“Things are going well for me here, I feel I am settling in,” he said.

“I have scored my first goal which is nice, although it is not the most important thing.

"The most important thing is that we are ready for the start of the competition."

Swansea will open their Premier League campaign a week on Saturday when they take on champions Chelsea.
