Marseille winger Andre Ayew has revealed that massive infighting, selfishness and egoism led to their disastrous showing in the French top-flight last season.
The Ghana international says the decision of his team-mates to put aside their egos has resulted in their impressive start to the season.
The Olympians have maintained a perfect run to the start of their Ligue 1 campaign winning all six opening games.
After beating the record for most consecutive losses last season, Marseille have achieved the best start in Ligue 1 history.
"Everyone wanted to achieve something for himself but this is not the case this season, we give the ball to one who is best placed and I hope it will last," Ayew told La Provence.
Ayew has scored thrice for Marseille in their Europa League campaign and set up Jordan Ayew for his first Ligue 1 goal of the season last week.
