Tottenham Hotspur came from behind twice on Sunday as they drew 2-2 with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, with Christian Eriksen proving to be Spurs' saviour.

Andre Ayew gave Swansea the lead with a superb header, before Eriksen notched his first free kick of the day from the edge of the box.

Harry Kane then scored a comical own goal to put Swansea back in front, but Eriksen popped up with a second free kick to earn a point for Mauricio Pochettino's men.

Eriksen's free kicks stole the headlines, but it was Swansea star Ayew who shone during the match, once again impressing under Garry Monk's tutelage.

The stats below show just how impressive the Ghanaian international was on Sunday, having had a major influence on the game. Ayew scored with his only shot on goal, whilst he also created one key chance for a team-mate. With seven successful passes in the final third, Ayew was always trying to make something happen, but he was also impressive from a defensive perspective.

Ayew won an astonishing 16 duels, meaning he had the ability to shrug off Tottenham defenders, retain possession and keep Swansea attacks going throughout the game, whilst he also won an impressive three tackles too.

The 25-year-old has been one of the early stars of the Premier League season with four goals to his name, and Spurs boss Pochettino may be considering whether he missed a trick with the former Marseille man.

Available on a free transfer this summer, Ayew has been one of the bargains of the season, and ESPN had reported that Spurs were keen to sign Ayew and boost their attacking options.

Pochettino eventually went with Lyon's Clinton N'Jie and Bayer Leverkusen's Son Heung-min, but Ayew's instant impact at Swansea has shown just how well suited he is to the Premier League - and on a free transfer, Spurs may well be ruing their decision not to pursue him.
