Ghana ace Andre Ayew started from the bench in Marseille’s 3-3 draw at Bastia in their Ligue 1 season opener nourishing the belief that he is not a key player for new coach Marcelo Bielsa.

French newspaper L’Equipe reported that the Argentine trainer has told Ayew he will not be playing a starring role at the club.

Ayew could be heading to English Premier League side Newcastle if reports are to be believed.

The 2014 World Cup star replaced Romain Alessandrini on the hour mark when Les Phoceens were up by two goals to one.

Two minutes later, Andre Gignac made it 3-0 by converting a penalty but Bastia stormed back to level with goals from Tallo and Maboulou.
