Andre Ayew to start from the bench against Brest

Published on: 26 February 2012

Andre Ayew will not start Olympique Marseille's game with Brest on Sunday due to a calf injury, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Ghana international suffered the injury in midweek and will thus come off the bench.

The 22-year-old has been in inspirational form this campaign and grabbed the vital late winner for Marseille in last Wednesday's Uefa Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

He is however being put on the bench in the game being played at the Stade Brestois 29 despite the injury to be used as a super sub if need be.

Ayew and his younger brother and Marseille teammate Jordan have both been named in Ghana's squad for the international friendly with Chile on Wednesday.
