Andre Ayew turns focus to the French league title

Marseille winger Andre Ayew is targeting the Ligue 1 title after his side strengthened their grip on a Champions League spot on Wednesday.

A 3-0 win over Brest lifted the defending champions six points clear of third-placed Lyon - to whom they lost 3-2 on Sunday - but they still trail leaders Lille by four with three games remaining.

Jordan Ayew scored the pick of the goals, an opportunist second from a narrow angle, but elder brother and Ghana team-mate Andre told OMtv: "The most important thing is winning. It doesn't matter who scores, at the end of each match we need the three points.

"We were disappointed with what happened at Lyon, we wanted to set things right in front of our fans.

"Lyon's defeat (at Auxerre) and PSG's draw (with Nancy on Tuesday) left us six points ahead so the Champions League place is almost secure. Now we must fight to take the title, if possible.

"A big game awaits us on Sunday, we must do everything to get a result there. We are OM, we have to produce a big performance at Lorient."
