Andre Ayew's foot injury not serious as feared

Marseille have heaved a sigh of relief after checks revealed midfielder Andre Ayew suffered no fracture in his foot injury.

The Ghana international underwent tests on Thursday and they revealed he suffered bruises and a midfoot sprain.

The Marseille medical staff will monitor the injury for the next 48 hours.

Ayew was substituted on 65 minutes by his younger brother Jordan in the 2-0 defeat to PSG on Wednesday night in the Coupe de la Ligue.

The 22-year-old remains a doubt for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against Ajaccio.
