Former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko has said the club's summer spending spree is "chaotic."
Milan have made 10 new signings this summer, spending more than €200 million, with at least one more addition expected before the window closes.
But Shevchenko, who won the Ballon d'Or as a Milan player in 2004, told football.ua: "I really don't know what to make of them.
"There are two ways to get results: one is a planned one, the other is improvised. It seems to me that Milan's actions have been confused. They don't have an established plan, but rather it seems chaotic."
Leonardo Bonucci, Mateo Musacchio, Ricardo Rodriguez, Hakan Calhanoglu, Lucas Biglia, Franck Kessie, Andrea Conti, Fabio Borini, Andre Silva and Antonio Donnarumma have all been recruited, and Shevchenko said he believed coach Vincenzo Montella would have a problem trying to accommodate them.
"There are so many new players there now and they bought one player for a certain position, and then a month later they bought another one for the same position," he said.
"These are improvised decisions. I have no idea what is going to become of them, but I do wish the club all the best because I still consider them my club."
Milan general manager Marco Fassone confirmed that negotiations with Fiorentina to sign Nikola Kalinic are at an "advanced stage."
"I think that the fans are happy with what the club are doing," La Gazzetta dello Sport reported him as saying.
"We've been able to consider who could still be useful to our team and, if the right opportunity arises, both in technical and economic terms, Milan will be on the front row."
