Angry Kotoko fans invoke curses on players after latest Liberty defeat

Kotoko players were subjected to severe verbal abuse by angry supporters during their 3-1 defeat at Liberty Professionals.

An obviously incensed supporters of the Porcupine Warriors charged on the players after their latest defeat sparked a wave of confusion in the team.

GHANAsoccernet.com editor Patrick Akoto reports the angry fans invoked curses on the players and attempted to attack them physically but for the timely intervention of the security apparatus.

The fans were left disheartened after seeing their side lose 3-1 against a resilient Liberty side at the Dansoman Park.

The team lacked stamina with their mental fortitude a source of worry to their travelling supporters.

Veteran midfielder and fans favourite Stephen Oduro and striker Ahmed Toure were the only players who were hailed by the supporters as the others came under severe verbal attack.

It took the pleas of the two players to calm tempers as their bus made their way out of the stadium.

Kotoko host struggling Bechem United in their next game at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.
