Marseille President Vincent Labrune has decided not to extend the expiring contract of Ghana star Andre Ayew, according to a report in the French media.
According to the report by Canal+ the delay in the talks over the extension of the contract of Ayew has angered the club's leader who now wants the player to leave.
This means Marseille are ready to allow their key playmaker to leave for nothing at the end of the season.
Ayew who is out of contract at the end of the season has attracted interest from English side QPR, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton.
Ayew, the son of ex-Marseille and Ghana legend Abedi Pele, has refused a contract extension with the Ligue 1 leaders and last week denied reports that he was signing a one-year extension.
Reports in Germany earlier this month suggested that Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg were also interested in signing the Marseille star.
Ayew’s versatility could prove useful as he can also operate as a second striker.
The Ghana international - who has played for his country at the last two World Cups - has spent his entire senior playing career at Marseille, and has 52 goals in 178 appearances.
However, he appears no closer to extending his contract at the Stade Velodrome and is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
Meanwhile another report in France claims that the Ghanaian international is far more likely to depart this January and Labrune is reportedly willing to do business for €2m.
