Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan wants a positive approach from his team-mates ahead of next week's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo on 3 June.

The Black Stars spurned numerous chances to draw blank with unfancied Sudan at the Baba Yara stadium in October last year.

Despite a commanding 3-0 win in the corresponding fixture two months ago, the Schalke enforcer is preaching caution ahead of the tricky duel.

''It is a very important game for us and we should be careful not to be swayed by the 3-0 away win. We all know what happened when we played against Sudan and so must approach the game seriously," Annan said.

''We have a strong team but in such games, you can't take chances and if you're not careful you may be shocked. But we believe in ourselves and we’ll do our best to win for the country.''
