Defender Prince Anokye has dismissed reports of indiscipline as the reason behind his exit from giants Asante Kotoko.

Anokye joined Champions, Berekum Chelsea this summer after he and other big name players were declared surplus to requirement at the Kumasi-based club.

Reports however later emerged that the 24-year-old’s penchant of questioning decisions of management was behind his axing from the 21-time league champions.

Anokye was said to have demanded per diems for players while the team was on pre-season tour of Serbia and this according to the reports was the last straw which broke ‘Management’s’ back, hence the decision for the axing.

However, Anokye’s says he doesn’t believe this is the reason from his exit from the Reds.

“I don’t think what happened in Serbia was the reason why I had to leave Kotoko,” he told Accra-based Hot FM.

“I it also not true that I am brash and indisciplined, I only demanded what was rightfully ours while at Serbia.

“And I am sure management itself knew my demand was fair and therefore don’t believe it was the reason why I left Kotoko.”
