Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan enjoyed more playing minutes at Schalke 04 as he climbed off the Royal Blues' bench to play in their 0-0 drawn game with Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old former Black Stars regular was introduced by Schalke manager Jens Keller as a 77th minute replaced for teenager Max Meyer at the Signal-Iduna-Park where Schalke managed to snatch a vital away point.

Annan was playing just his second Bundesliga game of the season after marking his debut over the week when he came on as an 80th minute substitute in the 3-1 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig.

The former Hearts of Oak midfielder's consistent appearances for Schalke could positively affect his chances of making Ghana's squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Please, for Heaven's sake, some of you people should not be comparing players like Acquah, Badu, Wakasu etc. with Annan. It is generally known that those players do not come near Annan. Get that clear. That is the gospel truth. Pablo anaaaaa!!!

Concerning Annan, he is our only hope at the central midfield for the Black. The truth must be told. Pablo the great.

If he's fit, he has to go. He's our best holding midfielder by far.

I've always believe in the quality of this chap ,it's now clear his coach is beginning to have confidence for him Annan . Now we shall see what happens next, fit Annan is better than Badu and Rabiu.Anyway Adomah scored a brace for Middlesbrough in their matc against Huddersfield. Dude is having a wonderful season with his club but I wonder why he replicate the same form the stars . Jeffrey schlupp continues to put excellent performance for Leicester City,it's now obvious he gonna play in the premiership next season.

I am happy that Annan is playing now. The question is why do Ghana players wait until is time for big Tournaments before they start fighting for positions in the respective clubs? Five or six matches will not make you fully fit for world club.

@thecockerel, my bro Annan will definitely be on the plane to Brazil barren any injuries. He's arguably our best defensive midfield shield over the past decade or so, a typical modern holding midfield trust him to mop out things in midfield when he's fit. I just hope that he gets at least 6 or more games so that he gets back into good shape prior to the WC, cuz he hasn't played for more than a year now after his surgery @ Osasuna. If he continue getting playing time I wont be surprised if AA includes him in the squad for the mundial, I will pick Annan over Badu & Rabiu on any given day.

30 minutes cameo will not guarantee him a spot, he still don't hve match fitness, remember he will be battling there against USA Jamain Jones his formal team mate @ Shalke, I doubt this cameo is enough

Ghana Midfield is choked now. You can't choose Annan ahead of Acqua. We all should come together as Ghanaians and talk about the weakest part of our team which is the defense and see the way forward. Which defender's deserve to go to World cup? That is the question we should all ask?

Ghana Coach and all Ghanaians should know that World cup is the biggest Tournament in the world, so coaches of other football clubs would like to see their players playing in Tournaments like World cup there give them 10 to 20 minutes playing time in their respective clubs so they can get the call up by their Nation. But you and me know the players doesn't deserve to go to World cup because honestly he has no form.

HOPE IT'S NOT JUST A FLUKE If Annan makes it to the world up and perform, it'll be an advantage for Jens Keller to sell him. I doubt he has Annan in his plans nd if I'm right then the coach might be up to something. Either way, if Annan does well and qualifies for Brazil, Ghana will also gain. We just have to make sure he's it enough to be there.

There goes the hypocrites!! How many minutes have Rabiu, Dauda, Wakaso, Boye, Vorsah and John Mensah played for their clubs this season? Inkoom, Paintsil and Derek were all training horses for their respective clubs but were getting invites and even made it to the afcon last year. Whilst Inkoom was invited late in the wc qualifiers .Annan is the best defensive midfielder we've in the country now. He reads the game well, good passer of the ball, can hold the ball and wins tackles without committing fowls. If Annan fails to go to Brazil ,then it's simply because he's an ex hesrts of oak player period! I'm sorry but does the truth.

Kwesi appiah will never invite Annan,he do then is because of people's mouth, and trust me he will not use him in Brazil, just like he did in south Africa.

Kwasi Appiah knows the kind of player Annan saw him capton the stars before he got injured in that friendly and even thou he was not fully fit in SA he (Annan) was giving a playing time cos half fit Annan is better than Derick Boateng.

Just because someone played 32 minutes in 3 games doesn't make him fit for a world cup place, I guess you think Ghana is going to Brazil to joke right. Remember class maybe permanent but form is temporal, don't count on someone's past achievements for tomorrow's glory. Acquah, Badu and Wakasu are better players than Annan currently, no matter the insults you throw calling people hypocrites. Be wise and learn some manners cos everyone is sharing their ideas.
