Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan returned to the Schalke 04 first team squad but warmed the bench in their 4-0 thrashing of TSG Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.

The former Hearts of Oak midfield fan-belt is yet to play a competitive league game for Schalke this season since his return from injury.

Schalke cruised to a commanding victory the Hoffs with Annan's Ghanaian compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng setting up Nigerian Chinedu Obasi for the third goal of the as Dutch hit-man Klass Huntelaar scored a hat-trick.

I just hope that he gets some games under his belt before the WC, at least 5 or more games and he'll definitely be on the plane to Brazil. Annan has been our best defensive midfield shield over the last decade, when fit he's a huge asset to the B/S.
