Anthony Annan wants Sulley Muntari to apologise

Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has advised his international teammate Sulley Muntari to apologise to Ghanaians to facilitate his quicker-than-expected return to the Black Stars ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The AC Milan star has been frozen out of the national team following physical confrontation with a top Ghana FA official.

The 29-year-old attacked Medeama president Moses Armah in an unprovoked manner during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, forcing the Ghana FA to suspend him from international duty  indefinitely.

However, the pocket-size midfielder, who is currently a free agent after leaving German side Schalke 04, has urged his teammate to apologise even if he thinks he was right.

Muntari must apologise according to Ghana teammate Anthony Annan

“I was not in the camp and so I'm not privy to what actually happened,” he told Takoradi-based Aseda FM

“But like an old adage in Ghana, no matter how righteous you may be, as a child when you clash with an elder, you will always be deemed to be the guilty one.

“And so I think my colleague (Muntari) should apologise even if he thinks he was right.

“He should find a way to apologise to the Ghana FA official and Ghanaians. It doesn’t make you less human.

“He’s my brother and we need him in the Black Stars. Sometimes things just happened but we must be humble enough to accept our mistakes even if we think we’re right.

“The collective good of the nation is paramount in my view. He’s one of our finest players and we need him to be in the team.

“Apology will not spoil anything. In fact it makes you gain more respect from people.”

I still believe that we could have done very well in this world cup if we had our house in order considering the fact that Germany who almost lost to us went ahead to win the cup.Everyone who had a part to play in our early elimination has to apologize to us.I heard the minister apologising and the captain has also apologized but I have not heard from the coach, the gfa,Mospacka, sulley and kpb.

Anan please work hard to return to the team and forget this rubbish claims for Sulley to apologies for what? Did Moses Parker above the law? both of them has to sit in front of GFA to apologies and not one person. Parker knows what he did against Muntari, Moses Parker uses symbolics words against Black stars players anytime he traveled with the team and telling them who are they? is it a good language? Sulley shall never ever apologies if they need they should sack him thats better. GfA Members are all vampires giants vampires.

Shine, please, do you know Mospacka or have you ever met this guy before. You are completely of the mark by saying he uses symbolic word and tell the players who they are. Ask anyone who travel with the Black Stars, players, supporters and the media about the person you are talking about. The players respect this guy probably more than any official. Ask the media people who this guy is and they will tell you with Moses you don't need money at all when you travel with the team. With all the problems that happened in the camp have you heard one media person who have criticize this guy.

Sulley, I am personally urging you never to apologize to that monkey and a thief. Stand on your ground and if that means not playing for the Black Stars, so be it. Protect your principles and not listen to all these wanna be Black Star players like Anthony Annan using this incident to be in the news and be called again so they can make easy money . What is the point in apologizing to such a dishonest individual? just to play for the Black Stars? surrounded by all these crooks and thieves, the very individuals you are fighting to be cleaned out of the GFA? JUST DON"T DO IT.

If even Muntari has seen it all, and there was the need for apology, he would! Yes, it was wrong to fist fight in this age of civilization however the issue is not about the fist fight that occurred between the player and executive but the cause of the fight. In fact it's a rift that has been in the institution for sometime now. I'd like to make something clear here: Muntari is not arrogant violent! How many times he has to apologize is not even the question here. Remember when even secondary schools would go and get brothers from the street to come and play for the schools and even inter regionals school games? That's where the problem of peoe like Muntari started. You want to stop such people as Muntari is or like Muntari? Eradicating the scho officials who got these Muntari like folks to play for the schools. Failure to stop the officials would only make more muntaris. Now let's face facts: Nyantakyi failed and so automatically, his wards would follow suit. To make a long story short, if you find something wrong with the fruit, stop checking the fruit to see where the problem is. Check the tree of which the fruit generated. "Word to the wise is in the north" that's how we said it back in the day. Cheers to all

We just never learn. It is a new era and it is time to get new names into the picture. Ivory Coast has been playing names for years with no results. We have had big names and still no AFCON title. Let us move on and see what others can do. I think Muntari is a great player but at the end of the day, he is getting old. We cannot continue to name Muntari, Essien and other old school players. Let us move forward.
