Appiah sure of returning to club action

Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah is not giving up returning to active football after revealing a proposed move to England has collapsed.  Â

The 30-year-old announced last week that he was close to signing for troubled Premier League side Blackburn Rovers but that has suffered a hitch.

Appiah has been without a club since his contract run out with Italian side Cesena.

He was linked with moves to Ukraine and Egypt but none materialized.

The former Juventus star is adamant he will sign for a club next month.

"I had the opportunity in July to play in England with two teams involved and I was convinced it was going to succeed, but then there were some problems and it turned the table against me," Appiah said.

"Now I'm training alone and will be playing again in January. I cannot say where but I can anticipate that it will be in Italy."
