The Ghana FA say applicants for the Black Stars job must be prepared to work under ‘difficult’ circumstances including taking a massive pay cut.

Three applicants – Michel Pont, Avram Grants and Juan Ignacio Jiminenz – have taking their turns to be interviewed by the GFA for the vacant job.

German trainer and former Real Madrid boss Ben Schuster is also working out his way to appear before the GFA’s interview panel next week.

Some of the coaches named on the Ghana FA’s shortlist a noted to earn in the region of over $100,000 as monthly wages in their previous jobs.

Many believe their financial demands of these coaches will be too much a burden for the Ghana FA to take on.

But GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie-Daara says though the GFA is ready to break the bank to secure a top-notch coach, applicants must also be prepared to lower their demands if they really want the job.

“We stated in our notification to the coaches that they should be prepared to work under difficult circumstances and it includes financial consideration,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“It – financial demands – will be discussed during the interview.

“We are prepared to break the bank and go in for the best coaches, that must be made clear but the GFA will not overburden itself when it comes to the crunch.

“If the coaches are not ready to accept the financial limitations of the GFA then we move on to look elsewhere.”
