Ghana FA Executive Committee member Fred Pappoe has revealed the imminent appointment if a technical adviser for the Black Stars is at the request of coach Kwesi Appiah.

The Ghana FA in its Executive Committee meeting on Monday set up a three-member committee to find a suitable candidate for appointment as a technical adviser for the Black Stars.

There have been varied reactions towards the decision taken by the Executive Committee.

While some believe the decision is an indictment on the technical prowess of coach Kwesi Appiah, others think it is a stead in the right direction to ensure the technical bench of the Black Stars is strengthened for future assignments.

But Executive Committee member Fred Pappoe who is amongst the selected three mandated to look for a candidate for the appointment of a technical adviser for the Black Stars says the move is in response to a request made by coach Kwesi Appiah.

“The coach had already told us he will like to have some sort of technical assistance,” he told Metro FM.

“So the GFA is merely responding to the request made by the coach.”

Talks over the boosting of Ghana’s technical team has been rife in the Ghanaian media since the Black Stars’ early exit from the 2014 World Cup where Ghana failed to make it past the group stage.
