Sydney: English Premier League giants Arsenal ended their pre-season tour of Australia in style after beating Western Sydney Wanderers 3-1 on Saturday.

New Arsenal signing Alexandre Lacazette came close to scoring as early as the third minute but his shot was saved by Wanderers goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic.

However, Olivier Giroud put Arsenal ahead in the 33rd minute, before Aaron Ramsey doubled their lead four minutes later courtesy of Nacho Monreal’s assist. Mohamed Elneny’s 45th minute goal gave Arsene Wenger’s side a comfortable lead going into the break at Stadium Australia.

At the restart, Arsenal kept the pressure high but the Wanderers defended resolutely and were unlucky not to score after Jack Clisby’s effort in the 57th minute struck the crossbar.

Wanderers, however, received a consolation when Steven Lustica’s shot found the back of the net after his free-kick deflected off a teammate in the 57th minute.

Two minutes into stoppage time, Theo Walcott looked set to score but Janjetovic denied Arsenal a fourth goal and a grandstand finish.
