Arsenal hired minders for Arsene Wenger in Munich

Arsenal hired minders for Arsene Wenger after their Champions League meltdown at Bayern Munich.

The Daily Star says Wenger was seen flanked by two men when he walked through the mixed zone - where journalists quiz players and managers - at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

And the pair were on hand to protect the Arsenal boss.

The Gunners had just been beaten 5-1 and - given the mixed zone is way away from the public - the close protection is a huge surprise.

No Premier League manager before has been seen with security guards in a mixed zone after a game.

Wenger yesterday insisted that he will still be a manager next season - even if it is not at Arsenal.
