Arsenal - Mertesaker unlikely to play against Leicester

Published on: 12 February 2016

The Express has reported that Arsenal are unlikely to play German defender Per Mertesaker in this Sunday’s clash against Leicester, though Arsene Wenger refused to confirm the rumours. The German defender missed the FA Cup win over Burnley through a red card suspension and was left on the bench against Southampton and Bournemouth. Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny  have kept two clean sheets in his absence. The pace of Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has caused chaos for backlines all season, including Mertesacker in Arsenals 5-2 win in September.
