Arsenal to meet with agent of unpopular Inter captain

Published on: 17 July 2016

Following recent tensions between him and the Inter fans, Arsenal will meet with the agent of striker Mauro Icardi to discuss a transfer.

Nerazzurri president Erick Thohir had previously claimed that the Argentine was going nowhere this summer, but the club captain has been under fire after comments made by his wife, Wanda Nara.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the situation could be resolved soon with the agent of Icardi set to meet with the Arsenal management as they look to finalise a transfer for the 23-year-old.

It doesn’t mean a switch to London will definitely take place, however, as the contract would still need the acceptance and signature of the player himself.

Icardi moved to Inter in 2013 from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria and was crowned joint Capocannoniere at the end of the 2014/15 season.
