Arsenal want Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah

Posted On Sunday, 9th December 2012

Afriyie Acquah in action for Parma

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will send a scout to the Africa Cup of Nations to monitor Afriyie Acquah if he makes Ghana’s squad.

According to sources, the Frenchman believes the Ghanaian is the perfect replacement for compatriot Michael Essien and fits the bill for Arsenal.

Wenger is prepared to dole out 10 million Euros for the combative midfielder in the January transfer window shuts.

Acquah’s strength, drive, strong tackles and fierce shots makes him a big transfer target of Wenger.

The 20-year-old will provide more defensive options for regulars Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere.

He is currently on a season-long loan move at Parma from fellow Italian Serie A side Palermo.

I think Arsenal is blessed with enough midfield talents. What they need are experienced defenders and an out and out striker.
