Ghana stand-in captain Asamoah Gyan will be available for Tuesday's friendly against Liberia contrary to previous reports.

The UAE-based player was reported to have informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to leave immediately after Saturday's match to return to his club Al Ain.

The reports claimed that he will leave for the UAE immediately to feature in Al Ain’s Emirati Super Cup against Al Jazira on September 15.

But, Gyan who will lead the squad if he is named in Ghana's starting line-up, says he will be travelling with the squad to Monrovia.

"I will be available to play for my country in the friendly against Liberia," Gyan said.

The Black Stars will face Liberia on Tuesday in a friendly to commemorate the country's Independence anniversary.

The match follows the Black Stars's 2-0 win over Malawi in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
