Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan cannot believe Ghana hit Egypt for six

Captain Asamoah Gyan is bemused by Ghana's big win over Egypt in the crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

The Black Stars run riot as they decimated the Pharaohs 6-1 before a packed crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The impressive output of the Ghana team caught everyone including the players by surprise considering the pedigree Egypt, who had a 100 percent winning record.

Gyan, who bagged a brace on the day, admits he never dreamt of such an emphatic win over the record African champions.

"Honestly no. I wasn't expecting six goals today," the Al Ain ace said at the post-match press conference.

"But we started the game very well; we even had an opportunity within three seconds of the game.

"I should have buried the ball but it is one of those things. Sometimes strikers need to miss and sometimes score.

"But honestly I wasn’t expecting six goals today but with the character of the players, how we started the game everything went well today.

"I would like to thank the players for the hard work today."

Gyan did not expect 6 goals because before the game, egypt was hyped by the media sooo much... undefeated in the group stage, salah and aboutrika, bob bradley, cairo, no mundial since 1990, etc, etc. not until the game started did the stars know that egypt is NOT in the same class as them. i attribute gyans miss in the first 5 seconds of the game to a SURPRISE. even he couldnt believe the "tough" egypt will let him score in the first minuite of the game. brazeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll. thank u stars. watching the world cup is just not the same without your countrymen in it.

Ooh Top Ranking, your are not being fair to the 9ja n the Zambia's oo.All the same we are all one big continent and although we will be going in the name of Ghana am also with the opionon that we are also respresenting the continent as well.So there is the need for us all to encourage ourselves most especially our brothers and Sisters in the other country to give us that support. In fact i see Ghana already there in Brazil but we still have to go to Egypt(i wish they change the venue of that match) and make sure we cancel that one goal they had here.In that way it will make their qualification more difficult for them. In fact,i see no way our Black Stars will go and lose 5 nil however i also have to add that it doesnt look impossible too. kudos to everyone most especially the technical team, the supporters who were on the stadium n our gallant man on the field.Glory be to Jehovah God for such emphatic victory for us.We say Thank You Jehovah God

As I said in earlier posts,BS are well prepared to even UPSET teams like Spain,Argentina and even the Brazil...I say bring them on...100% confident Ghana will go far in this WC..It will have to be something more bizarre than Suarez`s handball to deny us a sniff of that trophy. HOLA BRAZIL,GHANA HERE WE COME! UP BLACK STARS..You guys have totally done it.. THANK GOD,THANK YOU!!!
