Captain Asamoah Gyan is bemused by Ghana's big win over Egypt in the crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The Black Stars run riot as they decimated the Pharaohs 6-1 before a packed crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The impressive output of the Ghana team caught everyone including the players by surprise considering the pedigree Egypt, who had a 100 percent winning record.
Gyan, who bagged a brace on the day, admits he never dreamt of such an emphatic win over the record African champions.
"Honestly no. I wasn't expecting six goals today," the Al Ain ace said at the post-match press conference.
"But we started the game very well; we even had an opportunity within three seconds of the game.
"I should have buried the ball but it is one of those things. Sometimes strikers need to miss and sometimes score.
"But honestly I wasnââ¬â¢t expecting six goals today but with the character of the players, how we started the game everything went well today.
"I would like to thank the players for the hard work today."
