Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has branded Sunderland's current form as "embarrassing".
Steve Bruce's men have lost four on the bounce, leaving hopes of a Europa League slot looking no more than a pipe dream.
Ghanaian hitman Gyan said: "We shouldn't think of Europe. We have lost four in a row and it is embarrassing, so we must think only of stopping that run.
"At the start we kept 11 clean sheets and we hope we can go back to winning."
