Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan will meet Al Ain officials next week over a proposed loan move to West Ham United despite reports he wants to remain at the Emirates.

According to reports carried by the Mirror, the 28-year-old Ghana captain will tell Ain officials to allow him return to England where he can enjoy competitive action to get himself in shape ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

West Ham had their staggering $160,000 wage package rejected for the former Sunderland striker by Al Ain while Gyan pledged his commitment to remain with the UAE champions.

But latest reports in England suggests Gyan is still open to a January switch to join the Hammers and will hold discussions with Ain officials about his future next week.

Gyan has been the sole force behind Al Ain's double title successes in the UAE Pro League and has won the goalking title twice in the league.
