Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has presented a cheque for US$ 30,000 to Black Queens for winning gold at 2015 All Africa Games.

Gyan has now fulfilled the promise he made to the team before they embarked on their campaign in Congo Brazzaville.

On Saturday at his 30th birthday bash, the China-based striker announced the amount to the gallant players.

Gyan donated $10,000 to the female national team upon being made aware of a serious financial difficulty facing the side before they opened their campaign against South Africa which eventually ended in a goalless draw.

The Black Queens needed lady luck to sail through to the semi finals after winning a drawing of lots contest against South Africa having finished the group with a similar number of points and goal difference after drawing 1-1 with Cameroon in their other and final group game.

Ghana was in a group of three teams following the withdrawal of Egypt.

Black Queens captain Mercy Myles had made a public declaration that the $10,000 donated to the team by Gyan was an immense motivational factor in their march to the finals having beaten Cote d'Ivoire 1-0 in the semi finals.

Portia Boakye's late strike handed Yusif Basigi's side a 1-0 win in the finals against Cameroon and Ghana's only second gold medal at the All Africa Games.

Gyan who was following the team's prospect from his base in China where he now plays for Shanghai SIPG, had promised the side a concealed package if they won the final match and the team rightly obliged.

The former Sunderland hitman however delayed the announcement of his reward to the team until his 30th birthday which falls on November 22.

Gyan however threw a lavish party at his reported $3m mansion atWeija, Accra where he announced a $30,000 package to the team.

The Black Stars captain is now one of the big earners in world football with his reported weekly wage at Shanghai SIPG running into over $300,000.

His magnanimity however knows no bounds as he has funded several humanitarian projects through his Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
