Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has ruled out moving to Egyptian giants Al-Ahly after the Cairo side joined the growing number of club seeking to sign the China-based attacker.

Al-Ahly were planning an audacious move to sign the striker from big-spending Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in the biggest transfer move in the Egyptian club's rich history.

The Cairo-based giants had already approached the Shanghai SIPG attacker seeking a loan deal until the end of the season.

However, Gyan is not keen on moving to the Egyptian side are there are many other lucrative offers on the table for the Ghanaian.

Clubs in the Arab Gulf region and Europeans sides are among the those who have already approached agents of the Ghanaian for a potential move.

Ghanasoccernet.com sources close to the player indicate that his wages would prove prohibitive for the Egyptian side even though he would have loved to play for a club with a rich history and a huge fan base like Al-Ahly.

It is the reason why Gyan has ruled out the move to the Egyptian giants who are seeking a revival after recently falling behind in Africa's club competitions.

Gyan currently earns €271,000 per week in China, which makes him the world's sixth highest-paid football player, and must consider this huge salary.

The 30-year-old is considering his future with Shanghai SIPG as he is not even second choice because of the growing spate of his injuries.

The Black Stars captain's persistent injuries coupled with the arrival of Brazilian striker Hulk have brought him down in the selection pecking order.
