IBO lightweight champion Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe has threatened to beat up 'wee smoking' sports presenter Countryman Songo for his unsavory attacks on his boss on radio.

The boxer Game Boy, who is signed under Asamoah Gyan's stable, says he will smash the face of the radio presenter for the disparaging radio comments about his qualities as a pugilist.

Tagoe says several people who have been unjustifiably attacked on Songo's show for no reason have been mute but he will not allow the sports presenter to continue destroying the reputation of people in sports.

Implying that the sports presenter is high on marijuana during his programmes on radio, Game Boy also said he is crazier than the sports presenter.

Songo – whose real name is Patrick Osei Agyemang has used his ‘Fire for Fire’ show to attack both Gyan and Tagoe in recent times which has sparked the anger of the boxer.

Songo is reported to have said that the boxer is not as good as many think, suggesting he only faces cheap opponents.

His comments seem not to have gone down well with the IBO lightweight champion, who has warned that he might be forced to physically engage the presenter if he (Songo) continues to direct disrespectful words at him.

Tagoe told Rainbow Sports: “That Country Man Songo who sit on radio and television to insult people with the aim of entertaining people; he speaks anyhow and attacks people without respect.

“If my boss BabyJet due to respect has not responded to his utterances due to his [BabyJet’s] level; if he insults the likes of the coach of the Black Stars and they don’t mind him, he should not bring that to my doorstep.

“We the boxers are crazier than he [Songo] is. He should not be insulting me on his show and claim that I am not strong. If I am weak, can he fight me? We the boxers are crazier than he is.

“I will not entertain his insults. He smokes 'wee' to behave the way he does and aside from that, he gets people to support him. He should concentrate on the Black Stars, he should not do that to boxers.

“I don’t blame him; I blame those who gave him the opportunity to host their show. I will beat him wherever I meet him.”

Songo has is controversial figure in Ghana sports and has been in trouble over the past few years.

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has filed a defamnation law suit at the High Court in Accra against Patrick Osei-Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo for consistently defaming his name and character for years on the Multimedia Group owned radio station Asempa Fm.

Nyantakyi’s suit says the two have consistently defamed him, thus causing irreparable harm to his reputation and exposing him to public ridicule and scorn.

Nyantakyi’s lawyers have presented over 100 recordings as evidence of the vile attacks visited upon them by the defendants, and have joined Multimedia to the suit for consistently providing the platform for these attacks.
