Chairman of Circle 167 of Asante Kotoko Kofi Boama says the club are heading to court to put an injunction on the league after the Disciplinary Committee dock them three points and three goals for fielding an unqualified player.Â
Kotoko's bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak lodged the protest over the use of Obed Owusu in the Kumasi-based club's 2-1 win at the Accra Sports Stadium early last month in the Ghana Premier League derby.
In addition, Kotoko were fined GH¢5,000 which will be paid to Hearts of Oak.
Speaking to GHANASoccernet.com, the loud-voiced Boamah spewed his anger and frustration on the DC's ruling saying: "I urge Opoku Nti and his management to continue doing their good work. We know they have done theirs and we will also do our part to make sure things are back."
"We shall take the case to a competent court to adjudicate for the truth to prevail. We will seek for an injunction on the league until Kotoko is brought back to where we belong. We can't be used as a scapegoat", he added.
Kotoko are scheduled to play Hasaacas on Sunday at the Essipong Sports Stadium in the 29th league fixture before playing Aduana on the 13th of September in Kumasi.
