Asante Kotoko coach wants new deal

Interim Asante Kotoko head coach Johnson Smith wants his stay to be made permanent after leading the club's revival in the Ghana Premier League.

Smith guided the club to a fifth place finish after taking charge of their last six matches replacing Paa Kwesi Fabin.

"Maybe I will be here or not. Am a coach so if I get the job a will accept it. My letters are there so I'm waiting for their response and we can talk," Smith said.

Kotoko have been linked with an expatriate coach for next season after a difficult campaign in the league and Africa.
