Asante Kotoko are calling for reduction in the fine handed them by the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee.

The defending league champions have been told to pay Gh¢6,000 for misconduct after pleading guilty to two charges of misconduct after their fans threw water sachets and bottles onto the tracks of the stadium after the final whistle of their game with Heart of Lions.

The fans also physically assaulted the match officials after the game.

The club’s team manager has been fined GH¢8,000 (US$ 2857) who was found guilty on two counts of misconduct after physically assaulting a match official and insulting the match officials during halftime of Kotoko's league match against Lions.

The operations manager of the club,George Kennedy says the fine is too much therefore the club would appeal for it to be reduced.

“We remorsefully admit the offense, but the fine is too much,” he told Hello FM

“We would appeal for it to be reduced.”

Asante Kotoko are leaders of the Ghana Premier League with with 51 points.

my advice to kotoko is that they should accept the ban and the fined in good faith becos it seems our supporters dont learned from past mistake last they did the same thing and kotoko was ban and dis year the same mistake they keep doing it again so the FA should not reduced any ban or fined dis should served as deterrent to other clubs that no club is bigger than Ghana football if Ghana FA keep on punishing those whose bring our soccer to dispute our football will improve and we will get good corporate body to come and sponsor our league so i congrats FA for the punishment they give to my darling club kotoko no club is above the law my darling club should learned from this and make they talk to their supporters to behave or comport themselves during the game and after the game and management too should get a security to wear normal cloth to be in the various stands at the stadium and arrest all those who cause problems at the stadium and bring em to face the law but if management try to hide those culprit from arrest then everyday kotoko will be in trouble and always will face the ban and fined and those supporters who cause trouble will scout free and kotoko will be always be a losers
