Asante Kotoko forward Obed Owusu delighted with win over Wa All Stars

Asante Kotoko forward Obed Owusu is relishing his side's win over All All Stars in Week 9 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Captain Amos Frimpong opened the scoring for the Porcupine Warriors with 4rd minute thumping header.

Frederick Boateng, who is going through a purple patch form, sealed the win for the Reds with a late strike to hand his side a 2-0 win at Malik Jabir Park.

Owusu who has become a mainstay of the team, stated after the game the win was crucial for their confidence, especially with the big game against Hearts of Oak yet to come.

"That was a very good performance from my teammates," he said. "When we were coming we knew we had lost some games and dropped points at home which was not good."

"So the mentality coming here was to make sure we get the points or a point so we all fought through out the ninety minutes an we had the three points back to Kumasi."

Meanwhile, Kumasi Asante Kotoko return to Kumasi ahead of the big game against Accra Hearts of Oak. Striker Obed Owusu says the team must quickly shift attention to that game.

"Wa All Stars is gone. We are now going to focus on our next game which is on Sunday in Kumasi."
