Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Mahama has conceded that he had a poor season with the side last term though he vowed to hit his stride in the forthcoming campaign.

Mahama, who joined the Porcupine Warriors from second-tier side Techiman City FC two season as a marquee player, woefully failed to live up to the billing.

And the 20-year-old has admitted that he could have done much more than he did in the season and promised to returned to former level for the side in the coming season.

“Admittedly I didn’t play to my utmost best last season,” he said. “That was not my best form. But I can hit top form, and I look forward to exactly that next season. I’m certain that fans would see a a much improved game from me,” he said.

“My target for last season was to become a key figure in the team and contribute hugely to its trophy haul. I didn’t do too badly but l think that I could have done better."
