Asante Kotoko owner Otunfuo Osei Tutu II has directed for all outstanding monies owed players at the club to be paid before the start of the new season.

The Asantehene gave this directive when he made a surprise visit to the training grounds of the dethroned Premier League champions on Friday as they prepared to face regional rivals AshantiGold on Sunday.

The revered king breezed into the Adarko Jachie training ground of Kotoko in his sleek Rolls Royce automobile amidst cheers and excitement from players, officials and supporters gathered at the time of his arrival.

Otumfuo had however been made aware of some lingering financial issues at the club with management struggling to make payments due some of its players.

The club owner ordered for swift payment to be made while charging the players to give their all to restore the side back to its glorious days.

“Asante Kotoko is they soul of Asanteman and I have been made aware there are some financial issues,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said.

“I want to tell you that money is no more your problem, I will cater for that.

“I have been made aware there are some outstanding financial issues with some of you the players and I have directed that we find the money to settle all these issues.

“With that cleared, now that you also have to do your part of the bargain and play well for the club.”

There are reports some of the new players signed by the club including Ernest Sowah, Evans Quao and Samuel Kyere are yet to be paid their signing-on fees.
