Asante Kotoko have decided to withdraw their players from the local select XI side to play Black Stars in Friday’s farewell match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors have Kwabena Adusei, Abeiku Ainooson, Jordan Opoku and Seidu Bancey selected for the match.

The club have explained they want to rest their players for Sunday’s outstanding Ghana FA Cup semi-final clash against King Faisal in Kumasi.

A statement on the club’s official Twitter account said: “Due to our pending FA Cup semifinals game this Sunday, Asante Kotoko will withdraw its players from Friday's farewell game.”

Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League title with two matches to spare on Wednesday after defeating New Edubiase United 2-1.

Ghana’s World Cup squad has been preparing in Accra since Tuesday in a non-residential camping exercise.
