AshantiGold assistant coach Yakubu Mambo has called on supporters to calm down following their surprise elimination from the MTN FA Cup by second tier side Asokwa Deportivo in Kumasi on Thursday.

The Elephants have lost three matches in a row which has seen unhappy fans call for the resignation of coach Bashir Hayford.

"When you win the league, there is pressure on you to retain it and that's what is on us now. I know at an appropriate time things will get better so the fans should exercise some patience for the club," he told Metro FM in Kumasi.

"What we are going through is that we registered new players and there is no cohesion so it's time."
