Ashantgold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has dismissed reports linking Malik Akowuah to Hearts of Oak.

Reports have emerged in the local media that both clubs have reached an agreement for the midfielder to cross carpet to join the capital-based side.

The former Ghana Under-23 player is reported to have claimed he was close to sealing a deal with the 2000 African champions.

But the miners CEO has water down on the reports insisting Hearts have not made any official approach for their player.

“I have also heard about the rumours on Malik Akowuah joining Hearts but that is not true,” Fianoo told Accra-based Peace FM

“He has a contract with Ashantigold and moreover Hearts have not requested for his services so I don’t know where all these stories are coming from,”

“He is our bonafied property and so any team that wants him must talk to the club. I am really surprised that people are saying he is going to sign for Hearts.”

Akowuah joined the Obuasi-based club from Great Olympics two seasons ago.
