Embattled Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford is under intense pressure to quit the club following their latest defeat at Kotoko.

The miners were humiliated 4-1 by the champions at the Baba Yara stadium to heap the pressure on Hayford.

The ex-Kotoko trainer is losing the faith of the club’s supporters who have been unanimous in their call for his dismissal.

Hayford seems to retain the backing of the Ashantigold board but their unflattering campaign since the start of the second round could see him being forced out.

Worryingly for Hayford, bookmakers installed him as odds-on favourite to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked in the coming weeks if their fortunes are not reversed.

Having witnessed their team being outplayed and overrun by Kotoko in Kumasi, Ashantigold supporters , so far loyal to him, failed to offer their usual backing of the female Under-20 coach, with some telling the media he was not up to the job.

The Obuasi-based side have picked only a point from their last four games.
